Atletico Mineiro says it has fired coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo after the team's 15th loss in 24 games in Brazil's national football championship.
News of Luxemburgo's sacking was posted on the team's website on Friday, one day after the 5-1 loss to Fluminense.
The team says no decision has been made regarding Luxemburgo's replacement.
Atletico Mineiro hired the former coach of Real Madrid and Brazil in December of 2009.
