Andrey Arshavin admits the calf injury sustained against Barcelona in midweek could result in him missing the rest of Arsenal's season.

The Russia international limped out of the first half of the Gunners' 2-2 draw with Barca in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final meeting.

While Arsene Wenger is hoping Arshavin's injury will only keep the 28-year-old out for three weeks, things could prove to be a lot worse for the for Zenit St Petersburg star. Arshavin is hopeful he will be back in action inside a month, but the worst-case scenario means he would miss the remainder of the campaign.

"I think I have torn it (the calf muscle)," he told the Sport-Express newspaper. "If that's true, then I'll be out for a long time, at best after three weeks but at worst I won't play at all this season."
