Boca was set to host River earlier Sunday, but torrential
rain at the Bombonera stadium prompted referee Hector Baldassi to
call the players off the pitch within 10 minutes after kickoff.
It's the first time the famous derby between Boca and River
has been suspended during a match.
Pablo Paladino, head of the government department in charge
of organizing security for public events, said the remaining 81
minutes of the fixture would be rescheduled for Thursday, with the
kickoff time to be decided later.

several defenders and finishing with a left-foot strike from
outside the area in the 78th minute.
Leonel Nunez scored the second with a low shot under
goalkeeper Hernan Galindez after a counter attack in the 86th.

against Banfield in the 19th minute. David Ramirez hit a diagonal
volley from outside the area that dipped over goalkeeper Cristian
Lucchetti for the second in the 75th.

by Godoy Cruz on 21 after 10 matches. River Plate has 12 points,
four clear of Boca.
