Midfielder Alberto Aquilani has left Italy's training camp due to a head injury.

Aquilani was injured in the first half of a 3-0 win over Estonia in a European Championship qualifier on Friday and made a brief visit to a local hospital. He was quickly discharged and rejoined the squad to return to the Azzurri's training base in Florence but was then sent home.

Coach Cesare Prandelli did not immediately call up a replacement for the friendly against Ireland in Liege, Belgium, on Tuesday. However, Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna was added to the squad.
