Antonio Mohamed says he is resigning as coach of Argentine club Independiente and accuses fan groups of forcing him out.
Mohamed told reporters Monday he was leaving the job following a loss 1-0 a day earlier against Boca Juniors. Independiente has only four points in four games in Argentina's Apertura tournament.
Mohamed said he was forced to step down by the club's ''barra brava,'' which are fan groups often compared to hooligans in England and elsewhere in Europe. Assistant Christian Diaz is expected to step in as the interim coach.
