Hamburger SV and Germany midfielder Marcell Jansen will be out for
at least several weeks after injuring his left ankle in practice.
The Bundesliga club said Friday that Jansen damaged ligaments
in the ankle. The player and the club doctors will decide over the
next few days whether the player will need surgery.
A prolonged absence could threaten Jansen's hopes of playing
at the World Cup in South Africa, which runs from June 11-July 11.
