The Spanish Civil Guard says a football player from the Netherlands has been arrested on drug-trafficking charges in Las Palmas.

Spanish news agency Efe reports that the player is Terence Mateus Koetsier, an amateur in the Feyenoord system, and that he was arrested in San Bartolome de Tirajana.

Spanish authorities say the player sent more than 55 packages disguised in flower packets. Dutch police intercepted three of those for a total of 495 kilograms, while British authorities seized 140 kilograms.
