Alistair Edwards signs as Perth coach for 3 years

March 21, 2013

The A-League's Perth Glory has signed former Socceroo Alistair Edwards as head coach for the next three seasons.

Edwards had been in charge on an interim basis since former Scotland and Glasgow Rangers midfielder Ian Ferguson left last month. Under his guidance, Glory has won three wins of its five matches and is a chance to make the playoffs with two rounds remaining.

Edwards played 19 matches for Australia between 1991 and 1997. He also had short stints with teams in Britain and Asia before playing 93 games for the Perth team between 1998 and 2004 in the old National Soccer League.
