Algerian club banned for two years over Ebosse death
Algerian club JS Kabylie have been banned from all African competitions for two years over the death of their player Albert Ebosse.
The 24-year-old Cameroonian died after being hit on the head by an object thrown from the stands during a league match against USM Alger in August, which Kabylie lost 2-1.
Kabylie have already been banned from playing at their home stadium for the 2014/15 season, with their fans also barred from all matches, home and away, until January.
However, the Confederation of African Football on Monday extended that ban to continental competitions as well, meaning Kabylie - who finished second in the Algerian league last season - will not be allowed to take their place in the African Champions League.
A statement from Kabylie read: "In a dispatch received from FIFA, the organisation confirms the suspension of JSK for a period of two years from all African competitions.
"The Confederation of African Football met in Addis Ababa on Monday and suspended the club from all continental competitions following the death of Cameroon striker Albert Ebosse in August."
