Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Aldershot and Chesterfield at the EBB Stadium.

Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth has plenty to ponder.

The Shots raced into a three-goal lead at Torquay on Tuesday night thanks to Craig Reid's impressive hat-trick, only to be undone by a Gulls fightback which saw the hosts emerge as 4-3 winners in dramatic fashion.

Holdsworth was naturally disappointed with the defeat - a third on the spin - but opted to take the positives from the encounter and must now decide whether to stick or twist with his starting XI as the Hampshire outfit aim to end their sorry run.

Guy Branston was recalled for his first league start of the season in defence while Alex Rodman also returned to midfield.

Midfielder Peter Vincenti serves the final game of his three-match suspension. Ross Worner (back) is targeting a return to action in December while fellow long-term absentee Craig Stanley (broken leg) should be back in the new year.

Chesterfield caretaker manager Tommy Wright will assess his squad.

Defender Sam Hird and midfielder Danny Whitaker are among a handful of players nursing knocks from the midweek defeat at Morecambe.

Hird hurt his nose and neck after colliding with former Spireites goalkeeper Barry Roche on Tuesday night while Whitaker has some stiffness having only returned to the starting line up at the Globe Arena following a groin injury.

"We've got some work to do after the second half performance at Morecambe. We haven't been able to do it today [Thursday] as we were a bit thin on the ground at training, but we will go through it on Friday and again on Saturday morning just to remind them," said Wright.

"We have to be careful with Danny Whitaker, he didn't train. And neither did Sam Hird or one or two others. It's a bit up in the air at the minute as to what we're going to do but we will know more in the next 24 hours."

Scott Boden was back on the bench as an unused substitute at Morecambe after a minor groin issue. Wright accepts the young striker is short of match practice but added that he was fit enough to be considered for a place in the squad again on Saturday.
