The Scotland international opened the scoring at the Oxnard College Stadium in California from a third-minute free-kick and, although the hosts turned the game on its head through goals from Englishman Callum Riley (29) and Daniel Barrera (49), Albion responded well and clinched victory thanks to further strikes from Simon Cox (54), captain Chris Brunt (penalty, 58) and Roman Bednar (66). It was a first win on their United States tour for Roy Hodgson's side, who went down 2-1 to San Jose Earthquakes on Tuesday.
