Al Habsi: No time to lick wounds

Wigan jumped from bottom to 17th with a win over Blackpool last week, but they were brought crashing back down to earth by a 4-2 loss to the Black Cats, who went into last weekend's game on the back of a nine-match winless run. Roberto Martinez's men have arguably the easiest run-in of the five teams battling to avoid the drop, and they are only in the relegation zone by virtue of goal difference. Al Habsi has urged his team-mates to erase the defeat from their minds and instead concentrate on avoiding relegation to the npower Championship. "We've been fantastic in the last four games, solid at the back and looking like a very good team, so we can't let the Sunderland result knock us," the goalkeeper told Wigan's website. "There are some big characters in the dressing room who'll pick the team up; players who have been in this situation before and know what is needed to pull through. "The players were obviously down after the game, but we know there's no time to feel sorry for ourselves and we'll get that out of our system quickly. "The players, staff and fans will all be up for the challenge and ready to get behind the team to make it happen." Al Habsi believes a win over Everton on Saturday, and a home victory against West Ham two weeks later, should be enough to ensure the club's safety. "There is still a great chance for us to survive in the Premier League and if we can pick up six points from our remaining two home games it will go a long way to achieving that," he said. "Only goal difference is keeping us in there so we'll focus our attentions on Everton this weekend, a must win game, and do everything in our power to collect the three points that will put us in a better position."
