FIFA has suspended a players' agent for two months for making insulting comments on his Facebook page.

FIFA says the case of Brazilian agent Paulo Teixeira is the governing body's first disciplinary action in which ''a member of the football family has been suspended/fined for using social media.''

FIFA acted after Teixeira directed comments at officials from Belgian club Anderlecht in Facebook postings last year.

The agent questioned the integrity of the club in its transfer dealings with players from Congo.

FIFA says it ordered Teixeira to pay 8,000 Swiss francs ($8,700) in fines and costs.
