Afobe eyes Gunners return
The England Under-19 international missed out when Arsenal knocked giant-killers Shrewsbury out of the competition last month after suffering a hip injury. The Gunners face Bolton at the Emirates in the fourth round on 25 October and Afobe, who impressed during the club's pre-season schedule, is confident of making a swift recovery. "It is getting much better and it has fully healed now, so taking it slowly but testing it at the same time," Afobe told skysports.com. "I did my hip flexor against Manchester United in the first reserve game of the season, which was around a month ago, but it seems to have been worse than first feared. "Initially we felt that I'd only be sidelined for ten days or so, but it turned out to be a bit more serious, which has been frustrating. "However, I'd prefer to take my time with it now and give myself the best chance of being injury-free for the rest of the season. "Obviously, I'd love to make my Arsenal debut whenever the opportunity comes my way and the young lads did very well against Shrewsbury. "We've got Bolton next up in the competition and hopefully I can earn the chance to feature, whether it's starting or from the bench."
