Kevin Davies feels fighting fit to keep serving Bolton after surpassing a career landmark for appearances last weekend.
The 34-year-old striker came off the bench during the closing stages of the Trotters' 2-2 draw at Blackpool on Saturday to bring up his 600th career appearance.
Davies, capped once by England, hopes hard work behind the scenes means his longevity at the Reebok Stadium will be a feature for years to come.
Asked what the accolade meant to him, he said: "I must know I'm getting on a bit but I feel great. Until Saturday I'd started every game and I speak to our fitness guys looking for stats and stuff and they're up there where they should be.
"I'm doing all the things to make sure that I can try and get out there - the recovery sessions, yoga and all that.
"I'm trying to do everything I can to make sure I keep playing but, as I say, I feel great."
The Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, who is 21, has agreed a deal until January 2 and could make his debut at Preston on Saturday.
Manager Uwe Rosler told the club website: "Rob is a player who I know, one who has been with us before. We had him here last summer and he has made big strides at Wigan since then.
"He has been on loan to Burton and now (Latics boss) Roberto Martinez and everybody at Wigan think he is ready for the next step. We have been looking for somebody who has the qualities that Rob has, and that is why we have brought him in.
"I know what Rob is about and I have already seen him in training.
"I have got a good relationship with Roberto Martinez and we have been following Rob closely, not just now when we have been trying to get him but for a long time. We never really lost contact, I was always asking after Rob."
The Millers are in the midst of an injury crisis and with defenders Dale Tonge, Kari Arnason and Craig Morgan occupying the treatment room, Evans is short at the back.
But Morgan is on the mend from his ankle injury and could play at the weekend against Cheltenham, which would leave Mullins out of the side again.
"Maybe, we will have a look at it, but we have got loan options," Evans said. "He has been playing well at Oxford but is he as good as Craig Morgan? No.
"People forget that his move came about because Johnny Mullins came knocking on my door every day wanting to play. The problem is if we bring him back because Craig isn't fit but then he's fit next week, Johnny is going to be right back at my door.
"He is the type of man that I respect and like so we have to be fair with him. Johnny Mullins is a top centre-back for League Two, we just think we have a top centre-back for League One in Craig Morgan."
Saints are just one point ahead of bottom-of-the-table Rangers who have not won any of their 11 Premier League matches this season.
Mark Hughes has been in charge at Loftus Road since January and the two teams meet in west London this weekend.
But Adkins is playing down any suggestions that perhaps one of the two managers could be shown the door in the near future.
He said: "I don't think it will have any relevance whatsoever for either manager.
"We've got two managers and two football clubs at the wrong end of the table but I am pretty confident that both managers will be in situ come Monday.
"I am looking forward to another game. It has been a good week's training. I feel fit, I feel fresh and I've got an energy about myself.
"Every game that you look at has three points up for grabs.
"We're at the wrong end of the league table. We can't hide away from that and so the importance of the next game is always going to be highlighted.
"But it is going to be like that for us for the remainder of the campaign.
"It's a tough league that we're in, we're well aware of that, but one we love being in and one we expect to be in for many, many years to come."
