Ross County manager Derek Adams has emphatically denied Steve Lomas's suggestion that Ross County have acted disingenuously over Richard Brittain's future.

After the teams drew 2-2 in Perth - where Brittain bagged a brace of penalties - Lomas implied the Dingwall club had encouraged Brittain to renege on the pre-contract agreement he had signed with Saints in January.

"That must have been in Steve Lomas's head that we have offered him a new deal," he said. "I don't know where that's come from.

"I don't know why we would do that if he has signed a pre-contract with St Johnstone.

"Richard came to us and said he was going to look to get out the contract and we said 'we can't do anything until anything happens'.

"All we are doing is supporting our player to the best of our ability and I think we are doing that very well.

"Richie feels like he has made a mistake. I think it came out of Tayside that this was happening, it didn't come out from a Ross County point of view because we have known for weeks.

"He took his penalties very well, good composure. He is a big player for Ross County and he has shown that today."

Adams also confirmed Swiss defender Branislav Micic had dislocated his shoulder after coming on as a half-time substitute for Evangelos Ikonomou.
