Adam: We're not in to make up numbers
Having returned to pre-season training, the Seasiders are favourites to make an immediate return to the Championship after winning the play-off final last season. Captain Adam acknowledges that Blackpool will be facing a lot of hard work, but he is also adamant that he and his team-mates are not in the top flight 'just to make the numbers up'. "It doesn't matter who we are up against in the Premier League next season. Whether it's Wigan or Manchester United they are all established teams, apart from the three that went up," he told The Gazette. "This is probably the best league in the world and for us to be going there is great. "Every fixture will be a dream for us because at the start of last season none of us expected to be in the Premier League. "But we're not in it just to make the numbers up. "We want to show that everyone in our dressing room is capable of playing at the top level. We've got to be prepared mentally and physically because it is going to be tough. We will be up against some of the best players around. "But we are looking forward to it and for us the hard work started when we reported back."
