Accrington player out of hospital after collision
A lower-league player who was knocked unconscious following a collision in an English cup match has been released from hospital.
Accrington defender Tom Bender was taken to hospital with severe concussion after a collision with the team's goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and an opponent during a game against Tranmere in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
The match was delayed for 30 minutes while Bender was treated on the pitch with oxygen, before eventually being abandoned.
Bender is now recovering at home.
The player's father, Lee, says his son is ''in good spirits.''
