AC Milan sign Italy defender Antonelli from Genoa
AC Milan have signed Luca Antonelli from Genoa on a permanent transfer.
The Italian left-back joins the Rossoneri outfit for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with the San Siro outfit.
A statement from AC Milan read: "AC Milan announces that Luca Antonelli has put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him tied to the club until June 30, 2018."
Antonelli, 27, started in 18 league games for Genoa this season, scoring three goals and setting up one more.
The Italy international returns to the Rossoneri, where he began his playing career before heading to Parma in 2008 and Genoa three years later.
Earlier on Monday, Milan announced that they were on the verge of signing Italy international Gabriel Paletta from Parma.
The central defender has been strongly linked with a move to the San Siro outfit in recent months.
A statement from AC Milan read: "Gabriel Paletta is undergoing a medical at Milan's La Madonnina clinic."
Paletta has been a regular starter at Parma since joining the Ducale club in 2010 from Boca Juniors.
The 28-year-old is expected to sign a contract with Milan until June 2018.
Both players could play a part in Milan's away game at Juventus on Saturday, with Italian defender Ignazio Abate set to be sidelined for a month.
Abate sustained a right thigh injury during Sunday's 3-1 home triumph over Parma and the Italy international will undergo further tests in two weeks' time.
