Abidal set to sign new Barca deal
Barcelona defender Eric Abidal is poised to pen a new contract with the Primera Liga giants in the near future.
The France international, who is out of contract in June 2012, will meet with the club's hierarchy in the next three days to put pen to paper on a two-year extension, according to various reports in France and Spain.
Abidal, who joined Barca from Lyon three years ago, is looking forward to prolonging his stay at Camp Nou, and wants the current league leaders to continue their storming start to the campaign.
"I am very happy and I will sign a new contract with this fantastic club," Abidal told skysports.com.
"I am in good form at the moment, as are the whole team.
"We play the best football on the European continent and hopefully we can play like that all season."
