Italian news agency ANSA says two Juventus fans are in hospital after being stabbed in the buildup to their team's Italian Supercup victory over Lazio in Rome.

ANSA says the incident happened in the afternoon, near the Stadio Olimpico, before the start of the match and that both men were from Rome.

The two fans, aged 27 and 28, were taken to Rome's Policlinico Gemelli, with stab wounds to their backside. They will reportedly need about a month to recover.

Serie A champion Juventus beat Italian Cup winner Lazio 4-0 in the season's traditional curtain-raiser.
