Zenyatta's old stall at Hollywood Park has been turned into a shrine to the superstar mare.

She retired in December and moved to Kentucky to begin a breeding career after winning 19 of 20 career races and Horse of the Year honors.

But Zenyatta isn't forgotten in her old barn at Hollywood Park, where she lived for four years with trainer John Shirreffs.

A bed of straw remains in Stall 85, with three walls covered with photos, paintings and other memorabilia of the mare. One wall has a drawing from a grade-school class marking Zenyatta's birthday on April 1.

The steady stream of visitors that flocked to see Zenyatta is gone, although assistant trainer Michelle Jensen says a lot of messages were received on her birthday.

Jensen says Zenyatta's absence is like having a family member missing, although her former handlers keep tabs on her from afar.

Jensen says she, co-owner Ann Moss, racing manager Dottie Ingordo Shirreffs and two other women flew to Kentucky to visit Zenyatta on her birthday.
