Dodgers fans received good news on Tuesday when the club announced Zack Greinke would take the mound against the Nationals on Wednesday night.

Greinke, who broke his left collarbone during an altercation with Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin on April 11, pitched on Friday for the Dodgers' Class-A team, giving up five earned runs on six hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Despite the rocky outing, Greinke is confident he'll be
able to help the ailing Dodgers, who enter Tuesday in last place of the NL West, 7½ games behind the division-leading Giants.

"I won't be in midseason form, but I feel I'm able to get guys out," Greinke said following Friday's start.

Greinke, who underwent surgery on April 13 and was expected to miss eight weeks, is 3½ weeks ahead of schedule.
