Would Cowboys be interested in Randy Moss?

The chances of the Cowboys attempting to sign Randy Moss seems highly unlikely, maybe even close to impossible. Receiver is one of the few areas the franchise doesn't need an upgrade and re-signing Laurent Robinson should be a higher priority than adding a receiver that turned 35 on Monday.

But with Jerry Jones running the show you never really know.

Moss, who retired last season, announced Monday via USTREAM that he wants to play football again.

"Your boy is going to come back here and play some football, so I'm really excited," Moss said. "I had some things I had to adjust in my life."

The Cowboys weren't interested in Moss prior to the start of the 2011 campaign and that was before the emergence of Robinson, who caught 11 touchdowns in the final 10 games of the season. Even if the Cowboys fall short on retaining Robinson, combining Dez Bryant and Moss could cause a lot of headaches for Jason Garrett. After all, both players have been criticized for poor work ethic in the past.

Jones passed on Moss in the 1998 draft to take defensive end Greg Ellis with the eighth overall selection, a snub that served as motivation for the receiver with 14,858 yards and 153 touchdowns in his 13-year career. Moss went to the Minnesota Vikings at No. 21.

"Am I still mad at the Cowboys? Man, I always carry a certain chip on my shoulder for the Cowboys," Moss said two years ago. "You let bygones be bygones but at the same time I've still got that chip.

“It's a little added motivation. I don't really try to go out there and disrespect the Dallas Cowboys organization or say anything negative about Jerry Jones and what he's accomplished there. But I think as far as playing within the white lines, within the rules, I still take it to heart.

"I always forgive, man, that's in the Bible. I always forgive but I never forget."

In October, Jones apologized several times for not drafting Moss, one of the most talented receivers to ever play the game.

"We probably awoke a sleeping giant if it meant that much to him," Jones said. "Certainly, he's made us pay."

Moss is 8-0 in games against the Cowboys.
