MINNEAPOLIS – The NBA announced Thursday that Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love was named to the All-NBA second team.

Love finished the season averaging a career-high 26.0 points per game. That was good for a single-season franchise record and fourth-best in the league. He also averaged 13.3 rebounds per game, second only to Orlando's Dwight Howard. Love's 48 double-doubles were the most in the NBA, and he averaged 39.0 minutes per game (second-best in the league).

In addition, Love became the third player in NBA history to average more than 25 points and 10 rebounds while making more than 50 three-pointers in a season. Only Larry Bird in 1984-85 and Charles Barkley in 1992-93 had previously accomplished the feat; Love out-rebounded each and made nearly twice as many three-pointers as each despite the abbreviated season.

Only two other Timberwolves have ever earned All-NBA honors. Kevin Garnett made the All-NBA First team in 1999-2000, 2002-03 and 2003-04. He made the second team in 2000-01, 2001-02 and 2004-05 and the third team in 1998-99 and 2006-07. Sam Cassell made the All-NBA Second Team in 2003-04.

Joining Love on the All-NBA Second Team are the Clippers' Blake Griffin, the Lakers' Andrew Bynum, the Spurs' Tony Parker and the Thunder's Russell Westbrook. Love earned more points than any other second-team membe, with 365, nearly double the player with the next-most points, Griffin (170).
