Wolves announce 18-man training-camp roster

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 4:44 p.m. ET

MINNEAPOLIS -- There are no surprises on the Timberwolves' training camp roster, officially announced Friday morning.

General manager Milt Newton said last week the team would go into camp -- which officially begins Tuesday at Minnesota State in Mankato -- with 18 players, and that's exactly what they'll do. The roster features Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic and Minnesota's core of returners sans Kevin Love, a host of athleticism yielded from the Love trade, and a couple fringe players simply seeking to make a good NBA impression in Brady Heslip and Kyrylo Fesenko.

The team's media day is Monday, followed by a Midnight Madness-style "Dunks After Dark" event at 12 a.m. Tuesday at Minnesota State. The Wolves' first official practice is Tuesday afternoon, with their first preseason game slated for Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Indiana.

They'll be in Mankato until Oct. 5 and play a total of seven exhibition contests ahead of their Oct. 29 season opener at Detroit. By 4 p.m. on Oct. 27, they'll have to pare down the roster to 15 players.

It'll be a chore, given Minnesota has 16 players under guaranteed deals -- or, in small forward Glenn Robinson III's case, partially guaranteed. Speculation remains heavy the Wolves will move point guard J.J. Barea in the coming days, given the signing of free agent Mo Williams and the front office's attempts to trade Barea at least year's deadline and later to include him in the Love deal.

Here's the Wolves full training camp roster (name, position, height, weight, age, previous team/country, completed NBA seasons):
