Here are some notes, tidbits and stats heading for Saturday's game between the Wisconsin Badgers and Purdue Boilermakers:
-- This is the 83rd meeting between Wisconsin and Purdue with the Badgers leading the all-time series 45-29-8, including 25-12-5 in Madison.
-- Wisconsin has won a series-high nine straight games against Purdue. The average margin of victory in those games is 23.4 points. The Badgers have outscored the Boilermakers 321-110 in that span. Purdue has reached 20 points just once -- in 2005 (scoring exactly 20).
-- Under Paul Chryst this season, Wisconsin is 4-1 when scoring first, 0-1 when the opponent scores first, 3-1 when leading after the first quarter, 0-1 when trailing after the first quarter, 3-0 when leading at halftime, 1-2 when trailing at halftime, 3-0 when leading after the third quarter and 1-2 when trailing after the third quarter.
-- A Badgers tight end hasn't had a 100-yard receiving game since Lance Kendricks did it in back-to-back weeks in 2010 vs. Arizona State on Sept. 18 and Austin Peay on Sept. 25, a 70-game drought.
-- Wisconsin hasn't allowed a kick return of longer than 26 yards this season. Purdue is 109th in the nation in kick return average at 18.9 yards/return (the Boilermakers are also 121st in punt return average, 2.2).
-- Wisconsin had had 25 100-yard rusher vs. Purdue, including six over 200 yards.
-- Purdue is allowing 5.08 yards per rush this season, but 5.31 yards against FBS teams, 5.66 yards in two road games and 6.24 yards in its two Big Ten games.
-- The Badgers have had 14 200-yard passers vs. Purdue. Randy Wright is the only one to surpass 300 yards, and he did it twice. John Stocco threw over 200 yards vs. the Boilermakers three times. Joel Stave had 219 yards in last year's game.
-- Wisconsin has had only six 100-yard receivers vs. Purdue and none since Chris Chambers in 2000. Al Toon did it twice (1983 and '84).
-- Rafael Gaglianone leads the nation in field-goal attempts from 40+ yards with 10 (6 of 8 from 40-49 and 0 of 2 from 50+). Those eight attempts from 40-49 are tied for the most in the nation.
-- Purdue kicker Paul Griggs is last in the nation in field-goal percentage at 37.5 percent. He is 1 of 5 in the 30-39 range and also has a miss from under 20 yards. Wisconsin leads the nation in opponent field-goal percentage at 22.2 percent (2 of 9).
-- Joel Stave had had 22 games in which he has thrown at least 19 passes. In those 22, he has thrown at least one interception in 16 of them.
-- With his next win, Stave will tie Darrell Bevell for fourth place on UW's all-time wins as a starting quarterback list (with 26).
-- Stave needs 2 passing touchdowns to tie and 3 to pass John Stocco for 2nd place on UW's all-time list.

(Note: INTs since 1956, although doubtful anyone previous had more.)
