The University of Wisconsin Marching Band is used to providing the soundtrack for inspiring performances on the playing field. Truth be told, any of those on-field exploits pale in comparison to what Ann Trachtenberg has accomplished and overcome.

Trachtenberg, a Madison, Wis., resident and breast cancer patient, had recently joked that she wanted a marching band to play for her following her final chemotherapy treatment.

That's when Trachtenberg's niece promptly sprung into action, contacting the University of Wisconsin Badger Marching Band.

The band, inspired by Trachtenberg's story, promptly escorted the cancer patient out of the UW Carbone Cancer Center on Monday. Trachtenberg had started chemotherapy at the center roughly five months ago.

Trachtenberg, donning a red Wisconsin T-shirt, smiled wide as a dozen members of the university's band played "On Wisconsin" to mark the end of her treatment. She also hugged her daughter, Lindsey Trachtenberg, while the band reached its crescendo.

"This is great, this is great," Ann Trachtenberg said.

The elder Trachtenberg, who will continue to receive maintenance treatments, reportedly won over the Carbone Cancer Center's nurses, due to her compassion. Now, she has won over hundreds of thousands of supporters, judging by the web clicks the video of the event has garnered worldwide.
