DETROIT -- The Red Wings learned Saturday that they would start the playoffs on the road in Nashville.

"Every matchup in the league is tough so to me the less travel you have the better off you are," coach Mike Babcock said Saturday. "We know Nashville good, they know us good, it’ll be fun going down to their building, it’s always exciting down there, we’ve played some good games in there this year, so that should be a lot of fun."

On Saturday they found out when that would happen.

The NHL released the full playoff schedule on Easter Sunday.

The Wings will play Game 1 on Wednesday at 8 p.m., Game 2 on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

They return to play Game 3 in Detroit next Sunday at noon. Game 4 will be Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Game 5 (if necessary) will be April 20 in Nashville at 8 p.m. Game 6 (if necessary) would be April 22 in Detroit. If a Game 7 is needed, that would be in Nashville at April 24.
