INDEPENDENCE, Ohio -- Mo Williams (groin) and Anderson Varejao (ribs) are both officially questionable for Saturday's game with the Pacers, though Williams appears to be doubtful.
Neither practiced Friday and spent the day receiving treatment. Cavaliers Head Coach Byron Scott said Williams is feeling better but admitted he would be surprised to see Williams in the lineup against the Pacers.
Ramon Sessions will start at the point if Williams can't go. Daniel Gibson, who's averaging a career-best 14.6 points per game, has been good off the bench.
Varejao, who suffered bruised ribs in Wednesday night's loss to New Jersey, returned to the game and wore a protective covering. Scott said he was still in pain Friday but wouldn't rule him out. Ryan Hollins would start at center if Varejao can't go.
A final decision likely won't come until an hour or so before the 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
Williams' injury is not the same injury that kept him out most of the preseason, but Scott said the injuries are somewhat related. Williams had provided a boost in scoring and leadership after missing the first four games, and Scott said he knows Williams is disappointed that he's injured again.
"You can't fault the way he plays," Scott said. "I don't think we'd do anything different. It's unfortunate."
Scott said he's not yet sure if Williams' expected absence would mean more minutes for undrafted rookie guard Manny Harris.
