Will Muschamp calls Gator hotline under pseudonym and knocks himself
During the Gator Hotline show Thursday, a curious call came through from "Bill from Gainesville," the alter-ego of Florida Gators head football coach Will Muschamp.
Florida athletic director Jeremy Foley joined the show's host Mick Hubert as a guest representative from the Florida coaching/athletics staff when Foley fielded the question from "Bill."
"I've listened to the Coach Muschamp's show several times and have fallen asleep listening to it," said Bill. "[Foley] sound so at ease, he's really more entertaining than Coach Muschamp. My request would be that the rest of the fall on the Gator Hotline for the Gator fans."
Pretty savvy move by Muschamp who, like many coaches, would welcome the opportunity to shirk some media responsibilities and questions from fans. Foley seemed to know it was Muschamp but played along and acknowledged that life is much easier on the show after a 65-0 blowout win (over Eastern Michigan).
Muschamp is scheduled back on the seat alongside Hubert on Sept. 18 before a trip to Alabama and again before LSU visits the Swamp. If things don't go well, Muschamp may be hearing less from guys like "Bill" and more from the "Paul from Toledo"s of the world.
