Wild announce 6-game 2013-14 preseason schedule
ST. PAUL, Minn. -- It might be July and the middle of the summer with the Minnesota Wild conducting their development camp, but the team announced its preseason schedule on Wednesday proving the season isn't too far off. Minnesota opens the preseason with a home game Sept. 17 against the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7 p.m. Central. The Wild will play six preseason games, with a home-and-home schedule against Columbus, the Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues. Winnipeg and St. Louis are division rivals for Minnesota in the realigned Western Conference, along with the Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators. The Wild play home games against the Jets on Sept. 21 and the Blues on Sept. 25. Road games are at Winnipeg (Sept. 19), Columbus (Sept. 23) and St. Louis (Sept. 27). Minnesota traded forward Devin Setoguchi to the Jets last weekend as part of a shakeup on the opening day of free agency. Tickets for preseason games will go on sale on Monday, Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. The regular-season schedule will be released later this month.
