Wichita State ends skid, beats Missouri St.
WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Cleanthony Early scored 16 points and Wichita State snapped a three-game losing streak, defeating Missouri State 79-50 Saturday night.
Wichita State has reached the 20-win mark for a school-best fourth consecutive season.
The Shockers (20-5, 9-4 Missouri Valley) hadn't lost three in a row in four years. Two weeks ago, they were ranked No. 15 in The Associated Press poll.
Nick Wiggins scored 11 points and Malcolm Armstead and Tekele Cotton scored 10 apiece for Wichita State, which took control late in the first half. The Shockers opened up a double-figure lead and kept it the rest of the way.
Wichita State outrebounded Missouri State 47-22, with Ehimen Orukpe leading the winners with 10 rebounds while Early grabbed eight boards.
Marcus Marshall led the Bears (7-18, 5-8) with 19 points.
