White lead No. 15 Tar Heels over Virginia 64-52
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) -- She'la White led four players in double figures with 14 points, and No. 15 North Carolina beat Virginia 64-52 on Friday night.
Laura Broomfield added 13 points and 10 rebounds, and Italee Lucas and Cetera DeGraffenreid had 10 points each. Tierra Ruffin-Pratt had 13 rebounds and Krista Gross 10 for UNC, which outrebounded Virginia 52-34.
The Tar Heels (18-3, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) played without regular starting forward Jessica Breland, who had arthroscopic knee surgery on Jan. 21, and starting center Chay Shegog, who sustained a concussion Sunday at Maryland.
Paulisha Kellum had 15 points to lead the Cavaliers (12-10, 1-5).
UNC, which had lost three of its previous six games, went on a 13-2 run late in the first half to take a 35-26 lead into halftime.
