Will they wait?
With the Broncos punching their ticket to the Super Bowl on Feb. 2 by virtue of their 26-16 win over the Patriots in the AFC Championship game, Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase will be unable to even talk to the Browns until Feb. 3.
It is believed the Browns want to interview Gase before they hire a head coach.
Then, the Seahawks defeated the 49ers 23-17 in the NFC Championship to send them to the Super Bowl, as well. The Seahawks defensive coordinator, Dan Quinn, is believed to be at or near the top of the Browns wish list, as well.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen posted this on his twitter account prior to the AFC Championship:
"Browns waiting on Broncos OC Adam Gase; Josh McDaniels if changes mind; Bills DC Mike Pettine 2nd interview; same with Seattle DC Dan Quinn."
Since Quinn interviewed with the Browns during the Seahawks bye week, he would be allowed to have a second interview even though Seattle is in the Super Bowl.
There have been reports that Gase might not even interview with the Browns and could return for another season with Peyton Manning and improve his resume even further before considering leaving to be a head coach after the 2014 season.
Gase's offense put up 507 yards against the Patriots and Manning threw for 400 yards in the win.
Quinn, 43, had the top ranked defense in the NFL giving up 273.6 yards per game and allowing just 14.4 points per game. He has been on the coaching staffs of Steve Mariucci, Eric Mangini and Pete Carroll in the NFL and was on the University of Florida's staff under Urban Meyer.
In the NFC Championship game, Quinn's defense stopped the 49ers on their final drive with an interception in the end zone to thwart the 49ers' comeback bid.

Meanwhile, reports have surfaced that the Browns will interview Bills' defensive coordinator Mike Pettine for a second time this week.
Pettine's 3-4 hybrid defense was 10th in the NFL in his first season in Buffalo. He was with the Jets the previous four seasons and his defenses were in the top 10 each season, including number one in 2009.
The Browns have also interviewed the Cowboys' special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia. Also, Josh McDaniels, who interviewed with the Browns and withdrew his name for consideration could re-consider his stance since the Patriots have been eliminated.
Now that the 49ers have been eliminated, offensive coordinator Greg Roman or defensive coordinator Vic Fangio could also be interviewed.
The question is will the Browns wait until after the Super Bowl to name their next head coach or will they make their decision before then.
