West Indies B remains unbeaten in Global T20 competition
TORONTO (AP) David Warner, captaining the Winnipeg Hawks for the first time, scored just six runs and saw his team lose by nine wickets to the West Indies B team in the Global T20 Canada competition on Thursday.
It was the third victory in a row for the West Indies side. It remains the only unbeaten team in the six-team competition.
Warner, who is banned from any leadership duties for Australia after the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa in March, took over as Dwayne Bravo's replacement when Bravo decided to leave the team.
West Indies B, led by Justin Greaves' 89 not out, scored 155-1 in reply to Winnipeg's 151-8 and reached the victory target with 13 balls remaining.
Obed McCoy took 3-39 for the West Indies B side.
Vancouver Knights play the Edmonton Royals on Friday in the next match of the competition at Maple Leaf Cricket Club.
