Waters ready to take every snap for Cowboys

Dallas Cowboys veteran guard Brian Waters split time with Mackenzy Bernadeau at right guard last week in Kansas City but Jerry Jones says the 36-year-old is ready to get all of the snaps at that position Sunday against St. Louis.

"I think he's starting to get in the area of physical shape that he wants to be in," Jones said Friday on the G-Bag Nation show on 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM]. "He certainly has played just really good. And he can help us if he does."

Bernadeau and Waters, who sat out all of last season before signing with the Cowboys on Sept. 3, continued to share snaps at right guard during practice this week.

Waters played 18 offensive snaps against the Chiefs, entering into the game during the second and third series of each half.

Anthony Spencer is another player close to being at full strength, according to the Cowboys owner and general manager. The Pro Bowl defensive end saw his first action of the season last week, playing 34 of the team's 67 defensive snaps.

Jones said Spencer's "real close to right" after having arthroscopic left knee surgery on July 25.

"I understand our doctor, his doctors thought he'd be right as rain right now," Jones said. "And it's not a setback. It's just that these things are different for different people.

"Now, he has pain. But we don't have a player out there, for the most part, that's not playing with some pain."
