After losing seven of their past nine games, the Maple Leafs fired coach Randy Carlyle on Tuesday.
During a media session a few hours after the news broke, one reporter asked winger Phil Kessel about rumors that he's difficult to coach.
Naturally, Kessel came to the conclusion that he was being blamed for Carlyle's firing, so he reacted by calling the reporter an idiot.
Actually, his exact quote was, "This guy's such an idiot here. He's always been like this."
