Watch: Royals pitcher gets blasted in groin by line drive, still makes play
Tough day at the office on Monday for Kansas City Royals pitcher Jason Vargas, who got ripped in the groin in an incident of Vargas-on-Vargas violence.
In the fifth inning, Twins designated hitter Kennys Vargas drilled the pitcher's curveball "where you don't want to get hit" as Jason Vargas put it, though it remains unclear if the ball caught him in the jewels or the schmekel. More on that in a bit.
Regardless of where, exactly, Vargas got hit, this is a reminder to players and Little League parents on the importance of wearing athletic supporters!
And here's Yost's comical retort to a reporter who asked about the play after the game, followed by one more great Yost line.
