The 149th running of the Belmont Stakes was a New York, New York edition.

Both trainer Todd Pletcher and winning jockey Jose Ortiz call the Big Apple their home base.

So, when Tapwrit, a 5-1 shot, ran down 3-1 favorite Irish War Cry in the stretch of Saturday's race at Belmont Park, the home team had a sweet victory.
