Wally Ellenson no longer a member of Marquette basketball team

Redshirt junior Wally Ellenson, the older brother of former Marquette star Henry Ellenson, will not be returning to the Golden Eagles men's basketball team next season, the school announced on Thursday.

A guard from Rice Lake, Wis., Ellenson transferred to Marquette prior to the 2014-15 season after two years at Minnesota, and appeared in 29 games for the team last season.

Ellenson will remain on full scholarship with the Golden Eagles' track and field team.

A four-time All-American in the high jump, Ellenson took home Big East indoor and outdoor high jump titles in 2015.

Ellenson averaged 1.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 8.8 minutes per game as a member of the basketball team.
