VIDEO: Ondrej Palat talks about the Lightning's growing expectations

As the 2014-15 season approaches, expectations are rapidly growing for both the Tampa Bay Lightning and Calder Trophy runner-up Ondrej Palat.

Disappointed by a first-round exit in last year's Stanley Cup playoffs, the Lightning were extremely active during the offseason in both free agency and the trade market.

Notable offseason additions to the roster included defensemen Jason Garrison and Anton Stralman.

"The expectations are bigger than last year," Palat told Lightning.com.

A native of Frydek-Mistek, Czechoslovakia, Palat finished the 2013-14 regular season with 23 goals, 36 assists and a plus-32 rating in 81 games.
