KARLSRUHE, Germany (AP) Germany's highest civil court has postponed a verdict in the long-running case of speedskater Claudia Pechstein until June 7.

The Federal Court of Justice is deciding whether to uphold a ruling by a Munich court allowing Pechstein to proceed with a lawsuit seeking 5 million euros ($5.5 million) in compensation from the International Skating Union for lost income.

Germany's most decorated winter Olympian was banned by the sport's governing body for two years in 2009 on the basis of blood readings, although she never tested positive for doping. Pechstein says she has an inherited genetic condition that produces blood readings often consistent with doping.

A verdict in her favor could challenge the supremacy of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which rejected Pechstein's appeal.
