Van Gundy adds four members to staff
Stan Van Gundy hasn't wasted any time tying his Detroit Pistons back to the glory days of the Bad Boys.
Van Gundy added four members to his staff on Friday, including assistant coach Brendan Malone, who had the same job under Chuck Daly when the Pistons won back-to-back titles in 1989 and 1990. Later, Malone spent five years as an assistant under Van Gundy in Orlando.
The team also announced that Bob Beyer and Charles Klask will join Van Gundy's coaching staff, while Adam Glessner will be a scout.
Like Malone, the other three all worked for Van Gundy in Orlando -- Beyer as an assistant coach, Klask as a video coordinator and advance scout, and Glessner as a video coordinator and video analyst.
The Pistons also announced that several members of Jon Loyer and Joe Dumars' staff will not be retained, most notably player-development coach Rasheed Wallace.
