LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Southern California forward Evan Smith had left shoulder surgery and will miss the rest of the season after being out because of injury since early in the preseason.

Smith, who is the Trojans' only sophomore on scholarship, had his left shoulder glenoid labrum repaired on Dec. 23. He's expected to be ready for next season.

Smith played in eight games as a freshman, averaging 1.9 points and 1.1 rebounds.
