USC WR Collier leaves Trojans, WR Ambles stays
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Southern California receiver Markeith Ambles has reconsidered his plan to transfer, deciding to stay with the Trojans.
Receiver Thearon Collier also announced Friday he's leaving USC after a few months on campus. The Miami transfer never played for the Trojans.
Ambles caught just one pass during his freshman season at USC, and the Georgia native said last fall he planned to leave the program. Coach Lane Kiffin says Ambles changed his mind during the Christmas break.
Collier transferred to USC last August after two seasons with the Hurricanes. He sat out last season under NCAA rules.
With Collier's departure and tight end Blake Ayles' recent announcement of plans to transfer to Miami, the Trojans have just 59 scholarship players.
