US junior team invites Coyotes' pick Murphy

USA Hockey announced Monday that Coyotes prospect Connor Murphy, a defenseman selected 20th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, has been invited to take part in the National Junior Evaluation Camp from August 4-11 in Lake Placid, N.Y.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Murphy appeared in 35 games with Sarnia of the Ontario Hockey League last season, recording eight goals, 18 assists and and 26 penalty minutes. In six postseason games with the Sting, he registered a goal and two assists.
This will be Murphy’s second invitation to the National Junior Evaluation Camp; he was also invited in 2011.
The 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships will be held Dec. 26-Jan. 5 in Ufa, Russia.
