Scout.com Western Region recruiting analyst Brandon Huffman talked with FOX Sports Arizona about the current classes at Arizona State and Arizona, the top uncommitted prospects who could end up at those schools, the state of recruiting in Arizona and more.

ARIZONA STATE

Q: Who are the biggest commitments in ASU's current class?

A: The big gets are obviously Michael Eubank (four-star quarterback from Centennial, Calif.) and Dillon van der Wal (four-star tight end from Westlake Village, Calif.).

The big thing for ASU is holding onto them -- van der Wal visited Arkansas last week and Vanderbilt this week, and Eubank visited Utah last week and is going to Pitt this weekend.

Both guys have a lot of ties to ASU. I still think ASU's in the driver's seat for them, it's just a matter of holding onto those guys before Signing Day.

Q: Who are the top recruits still in play for ASU?

A: The big guy still on the board for them is Cyrus Hobbi (UPDATE: Hobbi, a four-star guard from Scottsdale Saguaro, committed to USC on Friday). I think that's the big one they've got to land. With as good of talent as there is in state this year, that's the guy they've got to land ... He's the second best behind Christian Westerman (five-star tackle from Chandler Hamilton who has committed to Auburn).

And Todd Peat (four-star defensive tackle from Tempe Corona del Sol) -- if they get Todd Peat this year, that puts them in excellent position for Andrus Peat (Todd's younger brother), who's going to be in the top two or three tackles in the nation next year. So that could bolster them in this class and next year's class.

Q: What are ASU's chances with Hobbi and Peat?

A: I think with Hobbi they're technically 1 in 3 (ASU, USC and UCLA are finalists), but I really honestly think it's 1 in 2 -- it's USC or ASU for him. Does he go with the hometown school or does he go with the path to immediate playing time, where he could maybe get on the field right away at USC?
