UCLA QB Hundley leaves game vs. Texas
ARLINGTON, Texas - UCLA quarterback and Heisman Trophy hopeful Brett Hundley exited Saturday’s game against Texas in the first quarter after landing awkwardly on his left arm following a scramble.
Hundley immediately got up following the 11-yard run and went to the UCLA sideline sitting down. He was replaced by sophomore Jerry Neuheisel with 4:29 remaining in the first quarter.
Hundley, a junior, was 4 for 4 for 48 yards and had run for nine yard before leaving the scoreless game. He remained on the UCLA sideline until early in the second quarter when he headed to the locker room.
At halftime, Hundley was reportedly doubtful to return. He was on the sideline in the third quarter.
He did not return before halftime as the Longhorns led the No. 12-ranked Bruins 10-3. Neuheusel was 8 for 12 for 46 yards in the half.
