UA routs Bahamas All-Stars in exhibition

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas -- Arizona’s starting backcourt combined for 23 first-half points Monday in a 99-57 exhibition win over the Bahamas All-Stars.

Kevin Parrom and Mark Lyons combined to go 8 for 14 in the first two quarters as UA grabbed and sustained a sizable early lead. The Wildcats led 32-10 after the first period and 50-28 at halftime.
 
For the second consecutive game, the UA got off to a strong start, jumping out to a 13-1 lead in the first five minutes. The All-Stars started just 2 for 11 from the field.
 
Parrom was big early on, scoring 12 of his 16 points in the first quarter, while Lyons poured in six in the second quarter and finished with 11 points in the opening half.
 
Arizona connected on 18 of 38 (.474) of its attempts in the first 20 minutes and limited the All-Stars to just 33 percent shooting (12 of 36).
 
The Wildcats put the game out of reach late in the third quarter, closing the period with a 13-6 run to stretch the lead to 31 points at 77-46. For the game, UA outscored the All-Stars by a combined 42-18 tally in the final three minutes of each quarter.
 
In addition to Parrom and Lyons, Brandon Ashley added 12 points and Angelo Chol chipped in with 11. Grant Jerrett led all players with nine rebounds, while Parrom and Ashley pulled down seven boards apiece.
